My Ancestors Hugh and Isabella McMillandand their two children son Alexander 12 years old and daughter Margaret 10 years old came to Australia on the Robert Benn they left Greenock on 20th September 1841 and arrived in Port Phillip on 26th January 1842. They continued onto Geelong Victoria. They were Bounty immigrants and paid the total of $58 pounds to come to Australia from Scotland. The Robert Benn was from what I have found was a three masted sailing ship weighing 840 ton but I am unable to find a sketch or photo of the Robert Benn.

My ancestor Eliza Jane Reid with her parents Elizabeth and Thomas, and brothers John and Thomas, and sister Mary, all from Belfast, came to Australia on the Robert Benn as bounty immigrants. They spent about 2 years in Tasmania before settling in Port Phillip. Would they have landed in P/P first then taken a coastal ship to Tasmania?
