Orontes in company; voyage to found new settlement; brief accounts of Barrier Reef passage from logs etc published in "Forsaken Settlement" by Peter G. Spillet (Dee Why West, 1972); "Via Torres Strait" by Ian Nicholson (published Nambour, Qld, 1996); an early account may be in the book "Up and Down or Fifty Years Colonial Experience in Australia, California, New Zealand, India, China & the South Pacific" by William Barry (London 1879), who says he accompanied Capt Bremer to Port Essington (and was supposedly shipwrecked on return to Swan River - which may refer to the loss of the Orontes on leaving for India 17/12/1838.
