My ancestors sailed on this ship in the year 1842. William Geeves, a farm labourer, living at Fowlmere, Cambridgeshire, England, decided to migrate with his wife and a family of six sons and three daughters, to Tasmania Australia. They sailed on June 3rd, 1842, in the vessel described as 'the trim little craft Appoline,' . The journey lasted 3.5 mths during which the passengers passed through some anxious times, through adverse weather and the difficulty of securing fresh food supplies. However, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia was ultimately reached on 24 Sep 1842.
