My 2 x great-grandmother, Catherine Fogarty, is believed to have travelled on this vessel in about 1857.

And my great great grandmother Mary-Anne Reauney (later Rathgeber) from Manchester was a passenger, disembarked at Geelong 19 August 1857. I would love to find any shipboard diaries from this voyage!

My father, William David Johnston (1909-85), served as radio operator on SS Echunga from December 1935 to December 1941. I have photographs of the ship, some of the crew and my father's radio equipment.
