My great grandfather James Pease Heslehurst (later captain) arrived as crew on Grand Trianon at Port Adelaide in 1855. He stayed in Australia and spent time with some other crew members on the fields of New South Wales. He then signed on the vessel Bonnie Doon in port at Sydney on 10 December 1855. Bonnie Doon then sailed to Brisbane arriving on 5 January 1856 after battling a storm which made them stand off Moreton Bay for three days. James made his base Brisbane later becoming known for his work dredging the northern ports of Queensland, opening them to commerce. He died in Brisbane General Hospital in 1911.

My great uncle Thomas Gleeson arrived on this ship, a few months after his brothers Patrick and Matthew Gleeson on the Lady Ann. Patrick was my paternal great grandfather
