My friend Ted Crossley was engineer on the Port Launceston for her last trip under Port Line - I think in 1972. She encountered a typhoon in the Pacific leg, and suffered total engine failure. Ted had to crawl into the scavenger to clear the carbon build up, with the ship out of control and beam on to the weather. When the weather settled, the engine fired up, and she proceeded without assistance. I can't find any record of what became of her - can you help?
