The Velocity, 91 days from Plymouth, arrived at the Lightship anchorage at a late hour on Sunday night. She is a fine vessel, and had made out a voyage previously. The log reports much unfavourable weather from the longitude of the Cape of Good Hope until reaching Cape Leuwin; since then continuous calms have been experienced. Icebergs were sighted off the island of St.Paul's. The Velocity will not come into the harbour until the tide rises, her draught of water being sixteen feet and a half. She will be in either Wednesday or Thursday next. The Velocity brings another large addition to our population. Among them are 117 single females, nearly all natives of Hibernia. Only one death occurred during the voyage, namely, an infant, from internal inflammation. Register 25/6/1855
